JUNIOR COLLEGE:

When the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh came up with two-year Intermediate Course in the year 1969 and a Board of Intermediate Education in 1971, JMJ Management that is already running Elementary, Primary and High School sections in its vast campus, took a step forward to start the 2-Year Education at Intermediate Education by naming the College as St.Joseph’s Junior College for Girls, and started first with two groups in Telugu Medium – one in Science stream – Bi.P.C. and the other in Arts stream – HEC.

For the purpose, a separate building was earmarked with two storeys for instruction and the ground floor for Administration.  Later, with increasing groups and media, the Management thought of a separate College campus and got it constructed in 10 acres of land by the  road leading to Atmakur (due to which its official address includes ‘Atmakur Road’), in 1995.  Today a majestic building stands tall by the road as a symbol of the majestic education that is imparted to the students in MPC., Bi.PC., HEC., CEC., MEC.,

in both English and Telugu media, besides Vocational Course in Computer Science. It takes pride in possessing a highly qualified Staff and its laboratories with great State-of-Art features. The result at the Public Exam. is encouraging with the College as the top College in the District among the Aided Colleges. The Management promotes the vision of world-class education in Rayalaseema Region through quality leadership, support, and services. It aims at continuous improvement of education.

DEGREE COLLEGE:

With a long history woven around St.Joseph’s Junior College for Girls, under the mighty wings of the Almighty and HIS leading, the College envisions a global education to the girl students and started Degree College as St.Joseph’s Degree College for Women with these courses:  B.Sc. with MPCs., B.Com (Comp), BBA in the Academic Year 2009-2010. The College comes under the purview of Rayalaseema University. During the next academic year, after a gap of one more year, BZC group and later MSCs in B.Sc. Course, and B.A with HPT were added. The result is encouraging. Computer labs are added further, apart from Computer Science Lab for the Vocational Course.

 

PG COLLEGE:

As a part of its mission in imparting education at higher level, St.Joseph’s Junior and Degree Colleges climbed one more step by introducing Post Graduation Course in General Commerce stream, viz., M.Com. (Gen), for the year 2017-18 with 08 students on roll. The students are accommodated in a separate block, after the Inspection Team delegated by the APSCHE visited and permitted officially. It was successfully conducted but had a set back during 2018-2019, as no one got admitted. Again in the academic year 2019-2020, there is a rise of admissions with 14 students on roll.

There is a proposal to come up with some more subjects that are career-oriented. With a sincere prayer to the Almighty for HIS Guidance in this matter, we look forward to the commencing of such courses in future.

COLLEGE HOSTEL:

It has been established in the year 1995, having the capacity for 1000 students, surrounded by green fields and gardens. It has beautiful and healthy environment, having vast play ground and study halls. Most of the students are from in and around Kurnool area. Most of the students are from the rural belt.
