Mahabubnagar is 105 kms from Hyderabad. It is a very backward and remote district. It is a rural tribal belt. The average literacy rate is very low. Mahabubnagar belongs to Nalgonda Diocese. In this whole area, there was no Catholic presence, except some Christian denominations. Society of JMJ is the first JMJ institution established in the district of Mahabubnagar.
JMJ sisters were invited by the then Bishop of Nalgonda Diocese – Rt. Rev.Mathew Cheriankunnel, through Rev.Fr.Raja Reddy, to start English Medium School in Mahbubnagar. Rev. Sr.Anna Maria Gali was the Provincial Superior and Sr.Emmanuella Gopu was the Vice-Provincial.
1984: The foundation stone was laid by Bishop Mathew Cheriankunnel, Bishop of Nalgonda in the present site for the construction of two-storied building with 12 classrooms.
1985: The building blessed and inaugurated by his Excellency Dr.Agostina Cociavilla, the Pro-Nuncio, Delhi. The pioneer sisters were Sr.Rani Pudota, Sr. Mercy Perinchery and Sr. Francina Savariappan standards.
