Opening of St.Theresa’s Hospital Health Center in Jagadhgiri Gutta

First and Fore Most I thank the Father almighty for His unending Love and support all through these years in St.Theresa’s Hospital. After the long awaited dream of achieving the goal of NABH Accreditation we the management of St.Theresa’s Hospital realized to open the extension of hospital as Health Center in JMJ Convent Jagadgiri Gutta Convent. The health center was existing years ago when Sr. Celestin JMJ started to serve the poor patients mostly with the preventive measures, in and surrounding areas of Gutta community.

We did have the Continuation of this health care services up to the demolition of the old building. Many patients used to benefit the basic health care and those requiring Institutional medical care were being referred to St.Theresa’s Hospital Sanathnager.

Now, with this view we at St.Theresa’s Hospital decided to extend our services to Jagadgiri Gutta with good set up for the basic primary medical care. St.Theresa’s Hospital Health Center was being inaugurated in Jagadgiri  Gutta on 10.11.2019 at 11.30 am in Jagadgiri Gutta. Fr. Jeevan prayed and blessed the center. Many JMJ sisters participated from St.Theresa’s Convent and JMJ Shanthinilayam Community, some of the parishners. Sr. Showry Tresa was representing the Provincial team and inspired the members with a short message. After the blessing there was tea party arranged by St.Theresa’s Hospital.

The Main aim of the Health center is to focus on prevention of disease by promoting health and wellbeing by regular health talks, health education, medical visits to the area etc. Facilities are provided for the regular OPD services.

At present one qualified doctor, one nursing staff, and one multipurpose clerical staff are staying in the center. We have equipped with medicines, basic infrastructure and sample transportation box, and refrigerator and ambulance. Samples are collected and sent to St.Theresa’s Hospital for the testing. The health center runs at present from 9am to 4pm. We will also start the evening clinic from 3pm to 8pm.
